PLANNING
Mrs.

will continue working on our Egypt Team Night by completing our pyramids,
sarcophagi, and masks. The week
after Thanksgiving, we will write a District Common Assessment on personal
narrative and read nonfiction Egyptian stories. Mrs.
Krahn:
We will finish reading the novel The Boy of the Pyramids.
As part of the end of novel activities the students will be writing a
Diamonte poem, writing a short narrative essay explaining what makes a good
friend and which character in the novel would make the best friend.
The students will also be writing the District Common Assessment
written narrative essay. MATH
Mrs.
Amezcua:
We will be doing triple-duty the next several days. We will focus on our
content, fraction operations. We will also be reviewing for the next District
Formative Assessment, which will be given Thursday, December 4th.
The final task is working on pectoral plates and the math quilt for team
night. Both of these projects will be completed in class. Mrs.
Loux/Miss. Wallace: Course

We will work on hieroglyphics and chest plates the week of November 24th
and then continue our fraction operations unit with multiplying and dividing
fractions. Course 2: We will work on hieroglyphics and chest plates the week of November 24th and then begin a unit on ratios and proportions when we return from break. SCIENCE
Mrs.Amezcua:
Our animal triptychs are done for team night! Now we will return to focusing
on content, namely chapter 4, which addresses genetics and advances in
genetics. Once we finish with this chapter, a new book will be issued, From
Bacteria to Plants.
Mrs.
Krahn:
The students will be constructing a paper pyramid with each side of the
pyramid requiring the students to draw, design, and write information from
their studies of ancient Egypt. We
will also finish reading and discussing the Middle and later Egyptian time,
and finally painting our salt dough maps.
