Week of November24-25, 2008

Ms. Blue’s Language Arts classes: We will be finishing our writing assessment and then start work on parts of speech.  We will also be working on vocabulary.  Keep reading for the 25 book goal.

Ms. Allen’s Science classes: Students will begin the rock cycle this week.

Ms. Gage’s U.S. History classes: Students will finish

 their President Documentary Project.

Ms. Gallatin Language Arts classes: All students are finalizing their speeches for the wax museum projects that we are doing on team night. We will also put final touches on our writing assessments.  Classes will continue to explore folklore.

Ms. Kraushar’s and Mrs. Eden’s Language Arts classes: Students will be researching and continuing their work on folklore projects for 8th grade team night.  We will also continue to read and discuss folklore.

Mrs. Glaser’s classes: All students should be completing their math projects.  They are due December 1st.  Algebra students will have the Chapter 5 test on Monday, December 1.  Pre-algebra students are finishing Chapter 5 and will test by Friday, December 5th. 

  Mr. Steiner’s classes:

In language arts we will continue to work on folklore. In math we will work on chapter 6, lessons 3 and 4.

Mr. Walter and Mr. Wendler’s classes:

Geometry class: Students will work in chapter 6

Algebra class:  Students will work with slope-intercept

Pre-algebra: Students will solve two-step equations.

Ms. Johns classes: 

Pre-Algebra:  We will start chapter 6 which covers fractions, decimals and percents.

 

Social Studies:  We will continue to work on our Photo Story 3 projects.

 

Notes: Please mark your calendars for December 2, at 1:00. We will have representatives from Northeast Magnet and East High School’s International Baccalaurette (IB) programs talk to all 8th graders. We will meet in the auditorium so plan to attend if you are interested. Thank you. Mr. Sechrist
